The Lace Foundation believes that every person has the potential and deserves the opportunity to lead a happy and productive life. The Foundation considers it a privilege to collaborate with organizations and individuals who are leaders in their fields. Their work has informed and extended our own. We have learned from these organizations about the challenges of making a measurable impact. While a primary focus is Illinois, we recognize that positive impact here will come from those working within and beyond our geographic boundaries. We have tremendous respect for the leadership, passion and ingenuity shown by so many working to transform the lives of others. Our focus is on enhancing education, strengthening human services, improving health and meeting community needs in Illinois and beyond. We will continue to seek out organizations which share these qualities and work tirelessly to make the world a better place.
A quality education holds the key to making the world a better place. Today, many young people in Illinois and beyond are denied the education they deserve. The status quo has not served them well. We seek out organizations that help change this unacceptable reality to ensure that each student reaches his or her full potential.
The Foundation recognizes that suffering takes many different forms and affects people from all walks of life. For this reason, we support organizations which alleviate suffering, take aim at its root cause and give people a fair shot at creating their own success.
The Foundation recognizes that focus is needed on meeting community needs. The Foundation will also respond to specific community needs or special projects that offer innovative solutions to problems that are present with ineffective solutions or problems that have recently emerged.
